Not for this offering they're not. Maybe for Giroux or Voracek, but not Couturier

They're both way too overpriced. Do the flyers think they have a shot at the cup in the next two years?

Do you think the Flyers are gonna do the Oilers a HUGE favor like this just because they don't think they'll win the cup? You're offering garbage and a couple picks for a bonafide first liner.

They'd do it for a first round pick, and a second round pick, and a mid tier prospect. Maybe throw in Samorukov on top of it. Not really a favor. At this point they aren't even a playoff team. Possibly for next year too. After that Couturier would be a UFA.

2020 Hall was had for a first, a third, and three mid tier prospects, WITH 50% salary retained.

You can't compare Hall. NJ knew they weren't gonna sign him. ARI was positive they would, and their GM was a complete idiot and is no longer in the league or allowed to work in it for the next year. Couturier has another year, is only 28 and will most likely sign an extension next year. Giroux on the other hand will be moved at the deadline for an offer like the one taken for Hall in 2020. Puhilly will try to push for this year (though it doesn't look good), and move pieces next year.

Hmm yeah that's fair. I figured the Flyers were at the beginning of a rebuild not at the end. if they're looking for Couturier to be their center going into the playoffs it would make sense to keep him around right now.
