So Nash hasn't played a minute with the Leafs, isn't likely to even practice before the season is over. He's coming from a completely different system and effectively adds no offence or puck possession skills at all but has been good defensively in a defence first system. Let's just put him on the 3rd line because the team that is currently top 4 in the league is definitely better off throwing anyone else from a different team into an important position. Also let's take two important veterans who offer way more than just points and stick them in the press box because as I mentioned, new flashy things are more exciting. Continuity is a real important thing.

Honestly I'm more bored and posting than anything more serious.

Also I really don't think Simmonds has added much beyond a hot streak of like 4 games before his injury.

I agree. I would sit Simmonds over Thornton but both will be better the deeper we get into the playoffs

this is how I see us for playoffs depending on health of everyone

Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Chucky-Tavares-Nylander
Foligno-Kerfoot-Mikheyev (Foligno takes the faceoffs)
Simmonds-Nash-Spezza

Thorton rotates with Nash or Simmonds if one or the other underperforms.

Other option is just leave Chucky with Matthews and Marner as in 2 games with them hes been a +3 and 2 assists (should have been 4 but they took 2 away and gave 1 to Rielly)

Basically its

Powerhouse line 1
Skilled line 2
Checking line 3
ADS line 4

I just don't get why everyone is so high on a guy that was clearly picked up for insurance if injuries happen. All the players talk about how important Thornton is and yet every fan on here wants him to sit in favor of a guy who hasn't done anything and is onjured

I have no interest in a fourth line like that. It doesn't really make sense to me.

Nash is a black hole offensively. He should be used for defensive reasons or not at all
