As a Caps fan, as much as I want Orpik's contract moved, I don't want them to do it this way. Landeskog is extremely overrated, and his contract is very similar to Orpik's, just longer term. I definitely don't want us giving up a first rounder, high end defense prospect, and a young forward who isn't done developing in exchange for an overpaid 50 point guy. I'd rather keep my young guys and whatever Orpik can bring to the table in the playoffs, and move him in the offseason.

I tend to agree with Krakowitz. Orpik serves a purpose at least this year for the Caps. Heck if Alzner goes this summer, he'll be needed next year. And what does Landeskog really bring to the Caps? For 5.5m, you who expect more. Do the Caps really need another Marcus Johanssen?
