Grubauer laughs. Colorado would love it if he signs for 3.5 mil.

I think Hall found a home in Boston.

If Edmonton only had a defense.

Not built for the play-offs or for a full NHL season.

How big is Yamamoto again?? Lol.

You have, it seems, a few different criticisms here. To your “no defence” remark - this years version of the Oilers are top 10 in points scored by defenseman and top 10 in fewest goals allowed. So our defence is pretty good. The proposed team features all of the Oilers rear guards from this season save Tyson Barrie. It’s reasonable to expect this squad to produce marginally fewer points and play better defensive hockey, as Barrie is (by virtually any metric) not great at preventing chances against. And Klefbom returning could be a major positive - he was arguably the best Oilers defender prior to his injury.

As to your other comments about “not being built for the playoffs” and the swipe about Yamo, there might be something to that criticism, as a lot of these guys have checkered injury histories. Yamo is not one of them - he’s been mostly healthy in his brief NHL career, as he was in junior. As for team toughness, Kassian, Khaira and Nurse have been known to mix things up, as have Goodrow and Killorn. This will become more evident in the playoffs, and in the more physical games throughout the regular season.

I guess we’ll see!! I wasnt just referring to the defensive players. The total defensive system and having a good checking line and good two-way forwards too.

I agree with the Klefbom take. His season ending injury hurt this season. And even with him back, the defense pairings don’t look great to me either.

E.Bear being the top pairing RHD doesn’t seem very strong too me. And Caleb jones/ Larson pairing seems weak too.
