Description
16 forwards, 8 defencemen, 3 goaltenders to start the tournament. Assuming that Montreal clinches a playoff spot and the initial rosters will be comprised of non-playoff teams. Non-NHL players/prospects from playoff teams were disregarded and I admittedly got a bit lazy with this specific roster: I think I could have dug through the SHL a bit deeper in order to find a name or two.

Injuries to Nyquist and Alex Nylander make this roster slimmer than it would be in other seasons. Would be unsurprised if the Swedes brought some players from the upper echelon of the SHL as opposed to some of the names here.

This is ultimately a boring roster. The expected names are here and the blueline is magnificent, but I have genuine questions about the goaltending and the lack of immediate star power up front leaves me wanting. They're a coinflip with the Russians as to who's taking bronze.

I can’t fault a guy for declining. Especially being a guy who’s finally had a healthy year (still missed some games due to injury). I’d presume himself/ management wants to keep it that way. More rehabilitation and training is the best route I’d say from a SJS perspective, and a health perspective.

We could see Bjornfot potentially slot in the lineup.

pretty interesting with Raymond and Holtz here. They should honestly be on the same line. Raymond can feed Holtz so he can hammer in some onetimers wink. Should be a pretty exciting team but they won't win. They got strong goaltending tho.
