I protect Pettersson and leave Matheson available. Give Seattle the choice between Zucker or Matheson, either one frees up cap space and if Mats gets picked, then you don't need to trade to open room for POJ.

Matheson has played great, but his contract is still pretty rough and I don't think one year of success is enough to warrant 5 more years of risk to a new franchise. I agree with what you are saying. Zucker offers a top line scoring option, a contract that helps get you to the cap floor, and much less risk only being signed for two more years.

If you trade MP, I don’t think it’s necessary to trade Riikola. With the pens injury luck, he’d be sure to get his chances then lol. Of course it’d help if he didn’t get injured too
