What Detroit needs to do at deadline

Created by: NickC1988
Team: 2016-17 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 17, 2017
Published: Jan. 17, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. Trade Vanek and never speak of him again. He's playing very well I know, but the last thing Detroit needs is another bad contract that is overpay and too much term (see Abdelkader, Zetterberg, Nielsen, Helm, Kronwall, Ericsson)
2. Retool, not rebuild. Give Larkin and Mantha the proper tools to be successful. What does that entail? Larkin needs speed on his line whether he plays center or wing, it's going to be hard to get the hawks to give up Hinostroza's speed especially with Tatar's value so low, but Tatar has shown the ability to produce more with elite line mates.

That Anaheim trade is possibly the worst trade I have ever seen in the history of this Airmchair GM. B. Montour is a top end prospect, and you're selling a rental, and you're also forcing Anaheim to give up a 2nd round draft pick.

Good Day Sir

Oh lemme just swap him out with Theodore then? That's how the rental market works where have you been the past 3 seasons?

Montreal on any NHL team doesn't want Helm and his never ending 3.8 contract, and even if the Blues aren't happy with Allen, don't think they want Howard either.

Helm? That says Miller. Howard has played better than Allen this season.
