I think only sign Danault if you can get Seattle to take Kassian along with a prospect/pick

Danault turned down 6x5M in his hometown. Your offer is way too low.

His value has dropped since then. He'll obviously regret not taking the 6x5M, he'll probably get less now. But I don't think he'll fit in Edmonton anyways. If they keep nuge, Edmonton has no reason to go out and spend money on another center

He’s like Nuge in a lot of ways, I think Danault would get time on the first line and play a lot of Center. Oilers could use another guy like that

His value haven't dropped at all. He's entering his prime. He would get 5.5M AAV easily on the UFA market, more than Pageau and less than Nelson who are his best comparables.

And if you want to bring up his goal production, you really dont understand his value.

If the money doesn’t work I’d be willing to pay 5.5 for either Danault or Coleman. The Oilers would have to buyout Neal though which is worth it but I doubt they do

Fair enough! I just know he went through a bit of a drought this season. Pageau and Nelson both had career years when they got their contracts. And with the flat cap Danault might not get as many years on his contract as he'd like. I personally think he'll be getting 4 or 5 years instead of the 6 that Montreal previously offered him. Either way, I just don't know why the oilers would be the team to sign him
