MN trades a 4th for a 28yo LHS KHL FWD, why? More LHS FWDs is the last thing MN needs.

Reasonable trade to oilers but I don’t think their is a suitable roster spot for strome in Edmonton.

You can't convince me there's an actual person named Cole Moberg lol that's just too much and besides I won't allow it motion denied & whatnot

3C?

🤨

They could go for 3 scoring lines and let Ryan McLeod helm the shutdown 2 way line with potentially someone named Helm and maybe Benson Archy etc.

Canucks decline. I am not giving up anything more than a second to get rid of Loui. His contract is trash, but with only one year left we can wait it out

The Canucks is not giving up more in this trade. They give up a 3rd and like 4-6 spots in the first round.

That is a fair point. I would only do it if we could wait until after the lottery to make the trade

Idk about that. If looking for a skilled forward that doesn’t have much high pace to his game why not try out benson? For that lw spot I’m ok sacrificing speed but would want a big body that can win battles in the dirty areas. Jp has been doing that and doing rather well but it’s not really utilizing his shot as much as would like to see.

Strome is literally better at everything than Benson and has chemistry with McDavid as well. Probably the most successful winger to play with McDavid has been Patrick Maroon, who isn't a burner either. I see some similarities in how they play the game - physicality notwithstanding, but Jesse brings that - so I think sending a 2nd to CHI to trial Strome next to Connor for a year is well worth the risk. IMO the greatest risk is that he knocks it out of the park and the Oilers can't afford his next contract, but if that happens they certainly could trade him and recover their 2nd (he's an RFA next summer).

I get the connection between mcdavid and strome but they played on different lines with the otters so doing the deal hoping to rekindle chemistry is iffy at best. It is a reasonable deal I agree if it works out can recoup those assets but I’m very hesitant on the idea. Might be still carrying some bitterness over the last series of events that involved a strome with oilers.

The thing that soured me with the last Strome was the fact that Chiarelli paid far more than he was worth and then traded him for next to nothing. That's not Ryan Strome's fault though.

I think ebs requested the trade that caused that series of horrible events. I’ve tried making sense of the mistakes charelli made and for the most part can see what it is he tried to do but that ebs for strome zero logic then it just kept getting worse
