Description

Colin White will be up after the college season is over. He should fit in well on the 3rd line with Smith and Pageau.

Condon has done an unbelievable job, more than anyone could ask. But a returning Anderson at the beginning of February is a big boost.

You have to hope that Ryan and Lazar improve. Lazar has nowhere to go but up now, and trading him now would be selling very low. Ryan's contract makes him immovable, unless he picks up production significantly. In both cases, Ottawa would be selling low. If Macarthur comes back its a bonus. Ottawa should be a playoff team with this roster, considering where they are at in the standings. If they want to tweak their roster, the time to do it is the off-season, not prior to the deadline.

I wouldn't depend on an graduating college player or junior really contributing to an NHL late in the season. And MacArthur, heard to get up to speed after being out so long. With so many teams battling for the playoff spots, the math says the Sens don't make the playoffs. ( I have no grudge against the Sens)

Its far from certain, but the math actually sways in favour of Ottawa. According to sports club stats, they sit at 68% chance right now of making the playoffs. The equalizer would be that they play more road games in the second half, and if Anderson can't come back for a while and they have to ride Condon into the ground, they will be in trouble.
