No GM should ever consider a deal for Zetterberg. His deal is too long. He doesn't produce enough to cover his contract. Plus, you take the risk of him retiring and getting you with a cap recapture penalty.

That's an absurd overpayment for Z.

Our Captain isn't getting dealt period, The cap recapture alone ensures he stays in Detroit for the duration of his contract. Besides it's overpayment from the Ducks that Detroit would gladly take.

Lol really Z is still putting up between 50 to 60 points per season. That's way more then enough to cover his salary.

This is the dumbest trade. Ducks don't need picks, and there is no way they break up the Kesler line.
An aging Zetterberg for two up and coming top 4 defensemen? Are you crazy? It's already lopsided before you throw in the first rounder.

Zetterberg is not reaching 60 points this year. It would be a stretch for him to get 50. The Wings are a mess. Salary cap problems, overpaid players. Every GM in the league should stay away.
