Description
Good for Pittsburgh, Hextalls only move is his best move he has ever made as a GM. Carter is one of the reasons I got into this sport, and he is the perfect definition of being a flyers fan. Wins 2 cups in LA, gets traded to cross state rivals and tears it up. Flyers did Hexy wrong. Cam Talbot has GAA under 2 and HArtman is playing well for MINN. Gudas playing very well for FLA this is the epitome of being a flyers fan. Fletcher better have a big move planned, Im sick of watching this same crap every year. Here is what I would do..... might not be realistic but I feel the flyers should go this route,

Trade 1- EIchel- We need to retool, and this is the only route. Eichel could change the culture of the team and him and Coots would be a nice 1-2. Give up a lot for him. Similat trades could be for ROR, MAtt Duchene, Tyler Seguin. I will go with a Tyler Seguin like return for Buffalo.
Colorado deal is so they do not lose a D-man for nothing in expansion.

Easy no from the Avs. They give up Graves for a 2nd plus a guy who likely never gets near the line up and still lose another player in the XD. Not sure why some people can't see why that's a bad idea. Braun is just a no.

What would you want for Graves

Personally I don't think the Avs move him. They expose him to the XD and keep him if Donskoi or Compher (or another) get taken instead. Then they may consider moving him in a hockey trade. Trading him for less than he's worth 'so they don't lose him for nothing' is a bad idea as they then also lose another player for nothing. Graves is top 4 in most D corps imho and though he's not Toews level, Toews cost 2 seconds but was a steal as the Isles were in a cap bind. So I would say Graves is a second plus which means you're close on value IF they were to make a trade, I just don't think the prospect swings the needle far enough.

While I don't disagree with all of what you're saying in the description the Cam Talbot situation in philly came down to him not playing and him wanting more money than Elliot to return once he was on the open market maybe if he resigned he doesn't look nearly as good as he has this year especially with how much the defense struggled. With Hartman he wouldn't have gotten the chance to play in the role he currently is in with the Flyers. He's playing second line minutes with Kaprizov who is a stud not saying its all from playing with him but that doesn't hurt. If he stays in Philly he's a bottom sixer. There needs to be a shake up no doubt but I don't think moves like you mentioned made by fletcher made this team play as bad as they did with out those two players they were very good last year. They need to go out and get a number 1 dman and probably add another top 6 forward and move out some of the older core player like Voracek, JVR. Ghost etc.

Thats a pretty poor team.

The defense is bad, you've traded away most of the youth for a player undergoing experimental surgery (somewhat against his team's wishes).

You've thrown in a 2nd with Voracek, but to protect who from being chosen in expansion?
