Team: 2021-22 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: May 22, 2021
Published: May 22, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
WSH moves out Dillon which most WSH fans want to do.
The penguins get him at a lower cap hit and rehab him. He can be the big physical D man the penguins are lacking. They take Riikola back because WSH loves to take the penguins cast offs and frankly he could probably play 3LD for WSH as he's capable just never really given the chance here.

The rest of this is whatever.
Zucker and McCann out, just not enough production. McCann just disappears especially come playoffs. Let him go to EDM he's still young, fast, has a good shot. Maybe EDM can get more out of him. Zucker and Matheson to Seattle.
Replaced with Saad, who is a solid physical grinding winger with speed and skill. I think he'd fit nice into the penguins top 6. There really aren't any big physical top 6 guys there so best there is.
RW is bare in FA so I gave legare a shot by mid season. Poulin a shot at LW because they just don't have any cap space.

i would be down to trade Dillon to Pittsburgh but i wouldn't want to retain salary. i would simply just do a 3rd or 4th straight up. i imagine that's what they could easily get open market for him

penguins don't have the cap to do a straight up trade. Nor can they put another 4 mil cap hit defenseman on the team. Kind of pushing it at roughly 3.

This would be the best they could do.

they could find a team to eat cap for a draft pick / prospect but Dillon might be overkill for a 3rd pair dman

yeah i wasn't sure what his cap hit would be to be honest.
But They will need two new defensemen next year and well, with little to no cap space this team is just gonna have to piece it together best they can.
This is gonna be an interesting off season for them. I feel this team is going to be forced into playing youth even if they move a whole lot of cap out.

this depends how badly WSH wants to move him and the other options. The penguins just don't have the pieces to pay people at this point. Cupboards are bare and most pf what is left just isn't available at this point. On top of it any team between these two teams is going to be tight either way.

But Dillon's corsi the last two years in 5.5 play is 50%. That's on what is largely considered a good team. That's not a good sign for trade value if you ask me. Which is why I put him 3rd pairing on the pens. I think he can rebound here, many guys do. Which is why I think it fits. WSH clears out 2.9 mil in cap space. Which they need to do, and they got youth to play D.

Washington is not trading Dillon to Pittsburgh. Especially for Riikola. No team is trading for Riikola.

That ain`t happening with Seattle. They will move MP before Matheson.

5M for Saad aint happening either.

Neither is whatever you are doing with Seattle.

Congrats, not only did you make unrealistic moves but you also somehow made the team significantly worse.

look it's eddy the troll who can't read.

And yeah, caps fans would move Dillon, and as one pointed about above, they aren't against moving him to the penguins. So go sit down "champ"
God the penguins lose and here comes Eddy to take it out on the interent. Get therapy or something eddy.

As an oilers fan I like the Mccann deal. just dont know if it will be feasible given that the oiler will most likely use the pick as a sweetner to dump kassian or koskinen to seattle

oh eddy is still here trolling away.... what a shock.
can Eddy figure out the meaning of basic words?
Unlikely trade partners.............................. no, Eddy can't figure that out.
Eddy also can't figure out moving Riikola is simply a contract out the door. The caps can bury him in the AHL if they wanted. But lets be honest Eddy, he could probably start 3LD for a lot of teams if given the chance. It's not like he sucks.
WSH also probably retains on Dillon no matter where they move him. Caps fans are moving him all the time for a reason Eddy.....but I know, you can't figure any of this out.

Riikola was on waivers multiple times and no one ever claimed him. No team is trading anything for him.

You have no idea what you`re talking about again.

You literally made a Riikola trade. I said no one is trading for him.

    Try again.
