I think Buffalo would rather send Seattle an extra third or fourth round pick to ensure they take Colin Miller. They gave Girgensons a multi year contract before he got hurt in training camp. I believe they see him as an important player to the core, and they would want to keep him. Miller has a one year deal and will probably be gone in a year anyway.

Bean will be protected, Seattle may be paid to take Skjei or Gardiner

I would've imagined the Flyers want to protect JVR over losing him to Seattle, let alone paying Seattle to take him
