In The Event Of A Playoff Failure

Description
As Leafs fans, we're conditioned to assume the worst, always. So, this is what I came up with/thought could be considered this offseason if the Leafs catastrophically fail to reach their goals in the playoffs. *knock on wood*

I'm curious for your takes as well. If the Leafs blow it, what do you think is the most likely outcome? Who is most at risk of getting moved and what is the return? Do you think deals like what I came up with would make sense or do you see something else being more likely and enticing for the Leafs?

Trades
1.
CGY
  1. Marner, Mitchell
Additional Details:
By no means do I think this would be anywhere close to 1 for 1, but in the event of a catastrophic outcome for the Leafs, the player they move is Marner to really reset the locker room. With the Flames also likely looking at a retool, Tkachuk (while unlikely to be moved) could be someone who really creates some change, and getting someone like Marner is tough to say no to.
2.
VAN
  1. Amirov, Rodion
  2. Kerfoot, Alexander
  3. Rielly, Morgan
Additional Details:
Again, while this trade isn't particularly close and would need a lot of work, trading a guy like Reilly would be a massive culture change for the Leafs and using these kinds of assets (while taking on money and an unhappy player in Schmidt) could be really beneficial to the Leafs, even if they have to give up Amirov to do it.

Who cares what pick it is, but it's a pick.

If not a 1 for 1 what do you think it would be because Flames probably wont be adding more than a 3rd at most. Calgary already has a soft perimeter winger in Gaudreau

And doesn't Marner make a AVG of 10+ a year

If we have a major failure this postseason I believe Rielly is the first to go. He is not as much of an offensive threat as he was a few years ago and his defensive play can be horendous at times. As for the big 4, if anyone should go I think it should be Marner. He has a large cap hit, high trade value and he just never performs in the playoffs the way we need him to.

You would really piss of AM34 if you moved Marner too. They love playing together. I don't think Marner is the one to go he is a complete player. Look at him on the penalty kill and in the last few minutes of each game throwing his body on the line as a PPG player.

I just don't think it would be 1 for 1 because of the salaries, and the fact that Tkachuk is expiring relatively soon with a high QO. I don't know what would need to be added, but I think 1 for 1 just doesn't make a ton of sense for either team.

Again, I don't think these are perfectly fair trades, but something along those lines is what I was thinking. I also wouldn't rule out Boeser given last offseason's rumours and his cap hit. You also have Jim Benning as a GM, so I don't think you can rule anything out and getting a BC boy in Reilly could be very enticing for him. Oh, and you get a Boeser replacement in Amirov for a couple of years down the road in the trade.

His "high QO" is still nearly 2M less than Marner for similar caliber players
