Deadline deals if they traded JVR and Bozak

Description
So if the leafs decide to stay the course and trade JVR and Bozak at the deadline these are some trade partners that might work. JVR for a Young RHD with size and shutdown potential, a young LW, a cap dump aND 2 2nds. I added Marincin and Lepisic to fill the 3rd pair D/depth and a depth forward. The Bozak deal gives the Habs something they need quality center depth for a promising RHD dman and a goalie prospect that might just need a fresh start aND a 2ND and 3rd round pick. The polak deal gets a few picks for a decent physical dman depth for the playoffs

Don't think Polak is worth that much, a 3rd rounder at the most in my opinion. Montreal is never going to pay that much for Bozak, Juulsen is going to be pretty good, and adding a 2nd and a 3rd rounder seems a little steep. The Ducks trade is a little harder to judge as there are so many moving pieces, but don't mind the idea of JVR being moved for a possibly elite d-man, though would prefer Fowler or Theodore.

My thinking was parts that are tradable by the ducks but I do feel it is a fair deal. Fowler and Theodore are not RHD and are probably not available.

I think Manson is expansion exempt so it would be hard to pry him from Anaheim. I think he would be a great addition to the leafs top 4 though.

My thinking was ANA window is closing and need a Top 6 LW to compete for cups. Manson and Ritchie have upside but are more Tradable than Fowler, Lindholm, Varatan, and Theodore which I think they will be protected this off-season.

Manson is NOT expansion exempt and would need to be protected.

The Anaheim trade is very close to what I was thinking except I think to make the cap work for Anaheim, the Leafs would have to retain a portion of JVR's salary. I also swapped Soshnikov who is expansion exempt for Leipsic who isn't expansion exempt to sweeten the deal for Anaheim. Anaheim might also want Polak for the playoff push if they trade Manson. That would make the Anaheim trade huge in the number of players but also makes a bit of sense as a hockey trade.

Don't think I would move Bozak until next year's TDL to hopefully see Nylander take Bozak's spot at center in 14 months.

The idea on trading Polak is good and lowering it from last years 2 2nds to 2 3rds is a good idea. If there isn't a half decent return for Polak than the Leafs might as well keep him for the Leafs push to the playoffs.

I can't see Anaheim trading Ritchie to be honest. I've been impressed by him this year. He has more to offer than I initially thought when he was selected10th overall in the 2014 draft.

Josh Manson would be fantastic, though. The only problem with that is based on how he plays and is probably perceived by Carlyle and Anaheim management (a tough shutdown man that is actually good). I doubt he would be available. Especially in-season when you consider that he's making the exact same amount next year.

I would add Kapanen and a couple of first rounders along with JVR if it meant getting Lindholm, though. Again, HIGHLY UNLIKELY, I get that. But it would be epic.

I really like Anaheim's D prospect Jacob Larsson. Wouldn't mind if the Leafs figured out a way to aquire him as well.

It's so tough to make these trades during the season when BOTH teams are likely to make the playoffs.

Fucale isn't good at all and we already have Kaskisuo and Bibeau and Sparks clogging up our weak goalie pipeline as it is. No more 'meh' goalies please. It's nice to see Joseph Woll doing well this season for Boston College. He's our one bright light between the pipes.
