Why would you trade Marino for nothing and then sign someone worse as a replacement? That makes no sense

I feel like Vesalainen can be very effective for the pens in the future, and that move is more about an identity change to get bigger and more physical for playoff hockey.

Vesalainen isn't worth trading Marino for, he was barely 0.5 p/g in the AHL in his D+2 season. Getting bigger for the sake of it is the wrong way to go. The Pens didn't lose this year because of their lack of size.

Getting more physical and bigger while sacrificing skill is how you run this team into the ground
