Getting younger

Created by: BigTramFan
Team: 2021-22 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 13, 2021
Published: May 29, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Buffalo cannot afford to rebuild, they need to retool around Eichel and Dahlin before Eichel walks. Miller offers veteran support to Eichel, like he has given to Pettersson.

TB need to clear cap for next year. It is going to cost them some assets to clear cap. They likely spend picks to get Seattle to take Johnson or Palat. Then they need to move another big contract like Killorn to be compliant.

COL stand to lose Graves in the Expansion Draft, this way they get a very good RHD prospect back (they are light on RH side) and a 2nd round pick that they could use to sweeten the deal so Seattle picks a specific player.

Jett Woo is not “a very good RHD prospect” and the Avs are most not definitely light on the right side, Makar, Girard (who I think is better on the right), EJ, Barron and Helleson. So yeah COL isn’t doing that, especially with the main attraction being a 2021 pick.

That deal simply doesn't swing the needle, no matter how many times Canucks fans post it. Avs pass.

Let’s see a decrease in points every year since his draft year. Drop in prospect rankings. And if he was so good why in the hell would VAN be trading him? I didn’t see VAN fans on here up in arms about him being traded.

It will probably cost TBL a bit more than that to move him in all honesty. Thought I was being too generous.

Probably the smarter move for the Canucks is to wait until that happens and then try to trade with Seattle. For the Avs to trade him for anything less than his worth is poor asset management.
