One year of Gaudreau isn't worth nearly that much to a non playoff team. You really over estimate the trade value of Tkachuk. He's a good player, but his notoriety by his antics doesn't necessarily increase his trade value. C'mon is he THAT much better than Brown and Batherson individually and you want a top ten pick too?

This. Tkachuk will likely always be a better player than Batherson, but he's not THAT much better. Maybe like 15ish points better, and brings that "Tkachuk" element, but the difference is definitely not a top 10 pick AND elite 3rd liner Connor Brown. I'll take Drake and Brown at 9M combined over Tkachuk at 9M himself.

I would love Matt Tkachuk in Ottawa and I think the top 10 pick would be available in addition to a pretty good roster player and prospect(s). But not adding a top young gun to the top 10 pick to get him. I'd rather just offer sheet him after next year lol

There isnt one, Gaudreau isnt a fit in ANA for Comtois alone let alone adding anything on top. Comtois only gets moved for an Eichel/Marner not a Gaudreau, hes a main building block for ANA and same is true for whoever is the 3 OA pick (Power, Eklund, Beniers, Clarke are the 4 most likely to me)

Trading for Johnny is a win-now move and the Ducks are rebuilding, it just isnt anything near a fit

That package is at the higher end of what ANA would give for Eichel, They arent trading for a guy who turns 28 in a month and a half
