I don't think so either but they are letting Dreiger walk for free then. Nobody is taking Bobrovsky lol

This team needs to build from the defence and get a better identity. Unless you want to see the same **** every year.

Yeah nylander isn’t moving and marner is most likely going back for Jones.

Marner has to be the one traded, he's never going to be a playoff producer. If Nylander gets traded I'm absolutely done with the team. He's the only big-money player that showed up. And his contract is golden.

It's not about what Nylander did wrong. It's about changing the makeup of the team. He is a great trade chip with his salary lower than cap hit and honestly I'm sick of high paid wingers. If he needs to go to get better so be it

I think both of those trades are terrible decisions to be honest. Trading Marner and/or Nylander is a trade the Leafs are very unlikely to win, since both players are point per game (or more) for the rest of their contracts.

Seth Jones is highly overrated, and people wanting to trade Nylander is ridiculous. He was pretty clearly the Leafs best forward for that entire playoff series. What more does the guy have to do? I almost think we should trade him so he can go somewhere his talent is appreciated.

Trading Marner is reactionary and likely a mistake. He would command a great haul (no matter what people here believe) but he's going to kill you everytime he plays the Leafs and he'll be a perennial all-star. Ask Boston how happy they are they traded Tyler Seguin. The Jets traded Teemu Selanne. The Flames traded Brett Hull. No matter how many nice pieces you get back, trading elite offensive talent is always going to hurt you. The Leafs will not get better from a Marner or Nylander trade and making a trade "just to shake things up" or change for the sake of change is how NHL GM's get fired.

Boston probably thinks trading Thornton at 25 was a good idea

Do they? Look at what they got for him. Not exactly a great way to build a roster
