Description

With Marner's cap hit so high and not many teams with 11 million in room to add him and construct the rest of their roster, is Nylander the odd man out?

I know he was their best player this postseason, but is this the piece of the 4 forwards that gets moved. (Don't see Matthews or Tavares getting moved).

My reasoning is much more moveable cap hit, and sell high, his value is at an all time high.

Just want to hear thoughts on that. If the devils were to trade for someone from leafs, I would want Nylander over Marner.

I would say no to Nylander because his value is pretty high after the playoffs and I think the Leafs should move him for a defensemen

Nylander for Severson?
Just a thought I know Severson is a big part of our plans.

The Leafs are not going to trade Nylander. They like good players. IMO the Leafs are losers in a Severson for Nylander deal. It has whiffs of Larsson-Hall. I don't even think a defenceman would be their target, as their top 4 performed quite well this season and they have some good options at the bottom as well. Depth scoring was a bigger issue for Toronto, trading scoring for D doesn't help them win that playoff series.

I don't see the Leafs trading any of their top 4. They don't "have to" and unless an offer absolutely totally makes sense that improves the roster and is a slam dunk it won't happen. I don't see a 1-for-1 happening with the salary involved, and the Leafs are sure not to get value in a trade with multiple pieces. Smart GM's don't trade point per game players, no matter what.
