Wasnt Gostisbehere available to every team in the league a few months ago? Cant imagine why anyone would take him now.

It's to help out the cap in the trade and he was actually good this year.

I'd imagine it had a lot more to do with taking on that contract at the middle of the season. Gostisbehere is still a decent offensive defenseman, just needs to be paired with an excellent defense first partner in limited situations. He's still very movable, I just think you either retain a small amount of salary or add a pick

The 2021 1st is Philly's or the conversation dies right there in the Eichel deal. Even then, this gets outbid. Ghost is a cap dump unless Philly retains, Patrick is damaged goods. After changing the 1st to Philly's, add at least 1 more piece.

I think the problem with him going to the Sabres on your analysis is there is no excellent defense first partner.

So you want the 1st OA pick + for an injured Eichel...GTFOH

I think all the trades are off a bit.

I don't know how much Columbus would want Lindblom, as they more need a center to pair with Laine. I also think a prospect needs to comeback for the Toronto first.

The eichel trade is interesting, but probably way too little in reality. Patrick is a huge question mark and Frost is 3 years past his draft and has still yet to play more than a handful of games with the Flyers. Combine that with the probability that both the firsts are late firsts, and I think they just get better offers.

Konecny for Gaudreau is something I see alot that I don't really understand. As is now, I would never be adding on top to get Gaudreau. Konecny is younger, has the better contract, and is prime bounce back material. Also, how you gona do my man Johnny dirty by trading for him and keeping him away from Hayes frown

CBJ is getting the 1st OA pick! We aren't adding a prospect to that! Lindblom can be a serviceable 3rd liner for sure, Hagg is just for salary reasons. CBJ wanting more would be asinine! TK for JG straight up is how I feel as well but I didn't want CGY fans to cry all over my page.

He had a better offensive season than Dumba etc.

Stuff like that

10 years of Power >>> 1 year of Jones

The Toronto pick doesn't add too much

Even if there's an extension it's still less good

With so many UFA-1 players it's just so much depending on a year where it's very uncertain what Carter Hart is going to be exactly. Dicey. Confused

We trust Hart will bounce back. With Eichel, we can maybe let Coots walk or get him to take a cheaper deal to stick around.

1st overall is awesome, but this draft, that doesn't really fix Columbus. The top 5 picks are potentially all dmen, and its a question mark who is really the best. Columbus' biggest issue going forward is finding a talented center for Laine, even after they lose Jones. That combined with what you view Lindblom as, a serviceable 3rd line winger, and a cap dump, Columbus will get better offers.

No they will not get a better offer than 1st OA. 1 OA picks are NEVER traded! They would then have 1st OA and whatever their pick is Top 6 likely. So they take Power 1st or whoever, maybe Beniers as their C, and the opposite with their top 6 pick. That is a really good way to start a rebuild.

We'll call that a "maybe". Would be better if we were getting someone other than Hagg back, because that makes our LD depth chart Werenski/Power/Gavrikov/Hagg/Kukan/Harrington/Carlsson, and MDZ and Lehtonen might sneak back in there as well.
