I’d be up for acquiring Dunn if we moved Butcher, as you have done. But not sure it would make sense to have both on roster.

I would imagine they could get a better deal to get Seattle to take Neal

Maybe. I'd be okay still with a 2022 2nd instead of 1st

Yea; I think Butcher has seen his last games in a Devils uniform

I think it would be Bear or the first, not both. I would just buy out Koskinen and Neal if that was the ask.

I would personally do Bear and a 4th, definitely worth giving up a good young RHD for the cap space, especially with our D depth getting closer for the show.

If Seattle wants to be competitive taking Neal will not help them do that.

They gotta get to the cap floor somehow. They can't just take all the 1-3 million per year players. Leadership, grit, etc. I think there are worse targets.

They won’t have a problem getting to the cap floor, there are better players available as cap dumps or they can overpay a UFA that can actually help them be competitive. Neal should be bought out by the Oilers, that was likely always the plan when they traded Lucic and his buy out proof contract.

I mean sure there are better players to take, but when you're picking from 30 teams youre going to have players that wont play regardless. You get an extra 1st round pick to build up a farm system. Nobody is going to let them become vegas, so instead of forcing it and trying to become competitive right away, they can grab some decent prospects by taking on bad contracts and look to sign guys next year in a decently stacked FA class.
