Description
Brief explanation:

With Giroux and Couturier being UFA's after this season I wonder if chuck does all he can to win. To be completely honest I haven't really watched Getzlef in some time so couldn't tell you he has slowed down or anything. I just look at his size and skill and see a player who if used correctly could make for a deadly 3C in the short term. Course Hayes Getzlaf are all huge centers and would be a great 1,2,3 option. I think they could also use more tenacious players so he (along with the return of Wayne Train) would be good for that.

I think a lot has been said about Jones and his underlying numbers but I think he is still an effective fit for the flyers. I don't know if he is the long term fit but the flyers desperately need a partner for Provy.

As for Johnny Hockey I think Flames and flyers are in a similar spot of "we have tried it with these guys and it hasn't worked" while Jake is overpaid I wouldn't say it's by much.

I know every flyers fan wants Hamilton but I don't know if he leave the Canes. Can't get to free agency and still not have a plan for the top pair... That's what happened last off-season and look how that went.

I would absolutely do that as a CBJ fan. Basically checks all the boxes for a Jones trade return with good potential all the way around. Honestly, I'd expect the Jackets to add a little

Fair enough honestly, just from the sounds of treliving sounds like they are done with that core and are looking for a shake up trade. My thinking is if they know they don't want to (or can't) bring Johnny back this could be the type of trade they would look at

Gaudreau would be part of the core that stays, if they cant resign Johnny this summer he will be moved by the deadline though

Shaking up the core is not the same as dismantling the core. Losing Giordano to expansion would shake-up the core. Trading Backlund, would shake up the core. The Flames aren't rebuilding, but when shaking it up they need to add to improve the top 6, not downgrade it.

That said if they can't agree to terms with Gaudreau, then we could trade Gaudreau. Although I think Konecny+ would be the ask. It's also just my personal preference, but any deal with Philly, I also want Patric coming back, I think he would really grow under Sutter's tutelage.

I don’t think Getzlaf wants to leave the west coast. I could see him taking a paycut to stay with Anaheim.
