    2. Kuemper, Darcy
    Additional Details:
Buffalo has a dismal record without Ullmark in goal and backup goaltender has been disastrous for them for the past couple years. Kuemper is a legit number one goalie and can work in a tandem with Ullmark. Lawson Crouse doesn’t look appealing with 4 goals in 51 games, but he did pot 16 in 66 two years ago and is a polished two way player and penalty killer. The Sabres also need a presence and Lawson Crouse brings that, even though his offense may be limited. It Kuemper will cost a lot to pry out of Arizona, and the Yotes need draft capital, along with additional scoring. The first pick in round two allows rhem to move up into the first round if they choose and Victor Olafsson gives them an affordable scoring winger for a team with financial troubles. They also get Jacob Bryson who should be on an NHL roster but may find it tough to crack Buffalo’s lineup with the potential drafting of Owen Power, to add to Dahlin, Ristolainen, Jokiharju, Borgen, Sammuelson, former first rounder Ryan Johnson and Oksari Laakaonen developing in the AHL. The team will probably also look to bring back Jake McCabe and will probably bring in a veteran defenseman to help bring the young D along. Arizona saves around 2.5-3m in cap space and sheds some salary, and avoid losing a goalie like Hill or Kuemper for nothing in the expansion draft

He’s listed on the 3rd line here, but he will compete with several players in the bottom nine for minutes and should have a role. Colorado may expose him in the expansion draft. He helps Buffalo revamp their third line and bottom six

I won't trade Ollofson without getting something substantial back.

Nobody is going to give up anything for eichel until after he proves he can return to play. Until he does that he’s nothing but an ltir gamble certainly not getting anything close to that return.

Would argue that Kuemper is indeed that substantial asset. Even at 31 Kuemper is very very good, and would be a fantastic tandem with Ullmark. Olofsson is great on the PP, but almost becomes a ghost at 5v5. Yotes need the scoring, and Sabres desperately need a 1a-1b type of goalie situation.

There is plenty of interest in Eichel right now with the injury and there are teams who are interested in giving up a lot, like you said he may be a gamble, but players of his caliber rarely come free and a lot of teams could use him .....but not on the “four first round pick level” that it may have been a year ago when he was healthy. The deal above I think Is semi reasonable and the 2022 first round pick is conditional on Eichel’s health and if the Kings make the playoffs.

That’s the idea.....and that’s my thinking....Kuemper is pretty substantial but I want Crouse in the deal as well because we need a player like him and maybe if Granato is coach he can get something more out of him offensively to help him reach his ceiling if Donny gets the job. But, Kuemper is a legit number one and Buffalo can afford to take him and they have the draft capital they want to acquire as well.....granted I’m sure zona wants back in the first round but pick 33 is pretty damn close and it gets them right back into the draft. It’s not a bad return for Olafsson and Bryson to get a legit number one goalie and some muscle. There are some former members of the Sabres front office scouting staff in Arizona so I’m sure they’d be interested in taking a look at Olafsson and Bryson.

I don’t want to trade Bryson but with Owen Power coming in potentially, the Sabres have a ton of young defenseman....I think it will be a challenge for him to crack the lineup
