Idk the awful owner and goaltending situation as well as them likely needing a few years before being competitive probably precludes it ultimately

The return for Jones is pretty underwhelming, as is the contract - he’s not gonna sign for 6x8.

Testing UFA is about testing value. Unless a trading team is willing to overpay, give him exactly what he wants, or he specifically wants to play for a certain team, I think he’s set on UFA.
