Another Random Kings Rebuild

Created by: P1zzaPolarBear
Team: 2021-22 Los Angeles Kings
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 5, 2021
Published: Jun. 7, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
So, after listening to the comments on my last LA rebuild, I went back and took everything into consideration. Just like last time, the idea is to have a younger core with a few older players in Kopitar, Doughty, Yandle, and Quick to help groom the younger players. I also tried to make the trades as fair a possible, but I might have pushed my luck with a few things. Through trades, RFA, UFA, and reserve signings, this is a new team, but let me know if it's for the better, or if its worst.

Flames dont consider that. Wolf is a top 3 prospect for us. Plus he us our goalie of the future

Damn it, I knew that was too little. Probably a higher pick, such as a third or second could be better.

Aren't they already in a rebuild?

Can't move Roy, especially for just a pick, and Bjornfot needs to play. Also you are playing Keith Yandle on the top line when his ATOI is 17:15, vs. Doughty at ATOI of 26:23. You rebuilt the team older and less defensively sound but I agree with adding Saad or someone similar.

Now that you point that out, probably could have kept Roy, and get something better then Yandle, but yeah, Saad is a solid player. I still don't know why Chicago Traded him... Twice.

Yeah, but isn't it more of a soft rebuild? Whatever it may be though, they still need better value for Wolf

You are a monster with little regard for the lives of announcers. Matt Roy and Nicholas Roy playing against each other is hard enough but putting them on the same team is just cruel.

I like the effort. Couple of pieces of constructive criticism currently.

    1) The most blatant is Roy only going for a 2nd round pick. He's currently worth more than that by a significant amount. He wouldn't bring back what Muzzin brought (1st, roster player, prospect), but it's closer to that than just a second. Even then, the Kings likely wouldn't trade him, and Brandon Montour is a straight downgrade.

    2) I like the idea of Vince Dunn much more than I like the idea of Keith Yandle. Yandle struggled to stay in the lineup for Florida, and now you're throwing him on the top pair with Doughty. I think his top-line days are long gone.

    3) Calgary says no to that trade in a heartbeat, as others have already suggested.

    4) Saad is a good addition, and the contract isn't terrible. Danault, on the other hand, doesn't have a place in LA. With Byfield likely to make the team next year (they won't send him back to juniors after a year of playing in the AHL), and Vilardi, the team is set for those two to battle for 2C and 3C. Your 4C spot will be taken by Jaret Anderson-Dolan, who had a very good showing this past year and has earned a roster spot. Other centers soon to fight for a roster spot include Kupari, Turcotte, Akil Thomas, etc. So Danault just doesn't make sense. If anything, I'd take what you offered him, and find a different winger to try to give some more scoring touch in the top-6.

    5) Alex Laferriere =/= Alexis Lafreniere. The kid just finished his season in the USHL, and I doubt he's even ready for the AHL much less the NHL. He won't jump over wingers like Kaliyev or ****emo, who will both come to camp looking to push players like Austin Wagner or Brendan Lemieux out of roster spots.

THank you so much for the input, I do appreciate it. Looking back on everything, yeah, I definitely have some things to improve. I do actually agree with you about all these points, I never though about it but yeah, Danault wouldn't really have a place in LA, and Lafreniere show stay in the AHL level for now.
