Testing 1-2

Created by: Mr_Gardoki

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 10, 2021
Published: Jun. 10, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Fleury for Zucker makes sense for both teams. Vegas adds to their middle six while saving a couple of million and the Pens upgrade their goalie position for the moment.

I may be off on what Foligno will sign for to go to a playoff team, but this gives the Pens a Hextall-type player.

Oleskiak comes back for an encore, bringing size and physical play.

Christian Fischer gives the Pens that physical presence, but they don't have to dress him every night. He can toggle with Gaudreau.

Sabres don't need Pettersson. They are about to add their 5th under 23 LD at the draft.

Who are your LD's besides Dahlin?

I don't see them moving both Matheson and Petterson in the same offseason. I get why it would be ideal to get off either of those contracts but seems like a lot of responsibility on POJ in his first full season.

I don't think they have much of a choice and POJ is ready. He only started playing poorly when the stapled with Letang. He was flourishing in a 3rd pairing role, but wasn't ready for first pairing duty.

Bryson, Samuelsson, Ryan Johnson (Ncaa 1st round pick), and Owen Power. McCabe will probably come back on a one-year deal because the market will be bad with him after having a brutal leg injury.

No offense, but this line of thinking is why you guys fail. Bryson and Samuelsson are not ready for top four play. Pettersson is a VERY good #4 dman. Anyone who says or thinks different honestly doesn't watch him and/or listens to people who don't know what they're talking about. If you want any shot at keeping Eichel and/or being competitive, you need at least some quality players who are ready now.

Petts is exactly the type of dmen you guys are lacking. The Pens are just in a very tough position financially and have to make hard decisions.

The Jets have plenty of LHD so they pass.

next season the D-core will be.
    Mccabe-?
    Dahlin- jokiharju
    Samuelsson/Power/Bryson-Borgen.
They are tanking next season anyways they won't spend any draft picks on players.

Pettersson is much better than McCabe. I don't think they want to tank next season.

no, he's not Mccabe was a top 10 d-man this year before he broke his leg. They are losing their two best players they won't be good next year.

Morrissey, Heinola, Samberg, Stanley, yeah they've got plenty and there's plenty of cheap LHD available in free agency every year.

Morrissey is it. The other guys are all coming along. Riikola is good player wasting away. He upgrade your lineup. He's cheap.

POJ is not ready. He's still way to small to play at the NHL level. Hell he's even getting eaten alive at WBS. He finished a -18 or some mess, just bleeding goals every game.
If he's our defense next year we are in a lot of trouble.

the annual.....lets bring Jarry back trades.
    He's not coming back.
Foligno in the top 6 is a sure anchor.
