Sabres don't get good value in the Eichel trade because of the long term Trouba contract. Sabres would like the deal better if Trouba wasn't included Besides NMC Trouba kills the deal.
Why do the Ducks do that deal? Sure appears Reinhart isn't signing long term with Sabres.

The Eichel trade is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE

Georgiev- NOT even a proven starter, let alone a good one
Trouba- overrated & OVERPAID- he’s got negative trade value
Miller- decent young player, but we need higher end guys
Strome- not bad, but doesn’t fit the “rebuild” timeline

Seems like you’re trying to “retool” instead of “rebuild”
And that’s a mistake imo
This team u put together isn’t winning in the playoffs
I doubt they even get there

Flip Strome at the deadline or shortly after the trade so Buffalo doesn't tank his value. Makes your team less hard to watch for a few months

Don’t care about the SHORT TERM & how our team looks for a “few months”
The Sabres need a complete rebuild
The point is to try & turn us into a contender in a few years
NOT a fringe playoff team now- and even that is just a maybe
