Description

I've seen some similar posts (the source unknown so don't put too much into this) that the Blues reportedly sent Buffalo a trade offer of Shattenkirk, Yakupov, and 2 2nds in return for McCabe, Nylander, Girgensons, and a 4th. Buffalo, imo, would be insane to take this deal as it would very much hurt our future because of the loss of Nylander for the return of a couple free agents and draft picks.

I will post what my counter offer would be here and would immediately try to sign Shattenkirk to a 6 year, 36 million dollar contract. Also put Gorges on the shelf for the rest of the season due to a hip injury. Thoughts?

Downgrade from our best RW prospect to our argued 2nd best (tied with Bailey.) We slide the pick up to a 3rd and take a NHL-ready center to compensate for losing Girgensons as we are down 2 centers from season start

In the proposed trade you have the Blues giving up an NHL ready center with at least a top 9 floor and top 6 ceiling.

The Blues don't need defensive prospects unless it's an elite prospect, not a top 4.

The Blues most dire need is at Center. A 22 yr old top 9 center isn't it. That's Barbashev now basically, only he's 21.

The Blues have plenty of LHD prospects including Walman who isn't on this site.
