Description
I change the forward lines most of the time I do these but here was my rational, also let's just say Vinnie gets $2 mil from someone else for the sake of this bc I like him but we have so many forwards. Him and Hagel were electric though.

F Line 1 - Ease Toews back in by playing with Kane again and an absolute worker bee in Hagel who creates chances and GRINDS
F line 2 - Dach's assist numbers pile while he feed the now defensively responsible sniper Cat and another sniper in big Kubs.
F line 3 - this one worries me, originally was reichel-suter-hagel, but I like Hagel-Toews-Kane a lot so messed around with that. This line would be weak on the forecheck and d-zone so probably unrealistic but would be pretty fun offensively if Nylander and Reichel prove themselves and Suter improves a little, too. We'll call it the offensive upside weak line.
4th line - Kurashev needs a spot, I thought about him at 3rd line RW, and Nylander 4th RW but went with this. Anyways, Kampf is a good 4th center (not top 6 Colliton), Kury provides some skill and hawks see if Hardman or Entwistle fit on the 4th line or maybe carpenter for one more year.

D line 1 - Alec Martinez signs a bit of an overpay for 2 years to play with Boqvist. Boqvist takes a another step forward after a big offseason. Martinez, as much as I hate his guts, played well with offensive-minded Shea Theadore so this could be a poor version of that (for now).

2nd- went with Zadorov but would be fine with Stillman. Murphy is a great D-man and this would be the shutdown pair. Zadorov when on his game is a beast but he isn't often on his game. If he can play a bit more conservatively, without taking his mean streak away, this could be a good (enough) shutdown pair.

3D - Keith and Mitchell is a solid 3rd pair, Keith probably gets 19:00 minutes a game ideally and helps Mitchell take another step and regain his confidence.

Goalie - Lankinen starts and gets 60% of the starts, Raanta brought back (Stan can't help himself but I like this) and gets 40% of the starts, hopefully stays healthy and regains form. Decide on what to do at goalie next offseason and wait till drew commesso is hopefully a good starter one day.

None of this probably happens, though I'm a big fan of this version of the strome trade as I believe it is realistic.

I don't know what to do with Kalynuk, but I am not a huge fan. We don't need another offensive minded, weak defender. He is like Gustafsson was but with a better head on his shoulders. I don't hate him but I don't think he fits our needs. He could do well on another team, is young, d-men need time, and I hope I'm wrong. He will be a solid player, but again, not what our leaky defense needs at the moment. Especially with similar players in beaudin, boq and Mitchell on the roster. I might get roasted for this point and I'm ready for it but it's my thought and again hope I'm wrong. That's why I have us packaging him, a 2021 4th and Connolly to Columbus (kalynuk would be great for them, they love big bodies and a sweetener in the 4th rounder for a rebuildingish team) or someone to dump connolly's deal. We could wait until next year, too to do this which could be the play as well since we can handle connolly's deal this year and could see if kalynuk takes a step forward or Connolly regains his game but I just wanted to get the deal off the books for cleanliness sake.

If we suck, trade big Z and Suter at deadline and put in Stillman and Borgstrom full time in their spots.

Roast me please! Here's to hoping we have another year without a team from Canada winning the cup!

Additional Details:
De Haan is a great fit for Ottawas bottom pair and has about net zero value in this deal. Sens could use a second line center with stutzle and Connor brown and Strome could fit really well there, and is still young with provenish upside. An early 2nd from a team with two seconds makes sense in this deal. Don't think Strome gets more than an early second.

    2021 2nd round pick (SJS)
De Haan is a great fit for Ottawas bottom pair and has about net zero value in this deal. Sens could use a second line center with stutzle and Connor brown and Strome could fit really well there, and is still young with provenish upside. An early 2nd from a team with two seconds makes sense in this deal. Don't think Strome gets more than an early second.

De Haan is not a net zero value, he is a cap dump, and NHL GM's know this, so saying it's net zero here, where it's all just fake anyways, calls into question the entire post. Strome is being pushed to the wing, but CHI points aside, Strome would be hard pressed to make the Sens top9 after last season's play. Ottawa doesn't need yet another middle6 forward.

So although I would take De Haan, with an asset to offset his contract dump, Strome, and his concussion issues are a risk I'd rather not take.

Matt Duchene, Thomas Chabot, Dylan DeMelo, Alex Formenton, Chris Tierney, Chris Wideman and Colin White

Duchene and Wideman did most of the bashing, and are gone. The team has deliberately targeted high character players since that incident, and if there are any concerns with De Haan or Strome, there isn't a chance the Senators would entertain the thought of trading for them.

Your logic is bad, your reply is pathetic.

Also that video being used to suggest any of those guys have character issues is just as ridiculous now as it was back then. Co-workers making fun of the bosses is hardly a situation unique to the 17-18 Ottawa Senators. The only asshole in that video was the Uber Driver.

    You're right

I've seen it first hand, and once it starts, it's difficult to stop them, I know, I've tried. They just wait until I leave and resume.

This person who posted it is a troll, so I put them on ignore. nothing worthwhile to contribute.
