Description

Overpay for Eichel.

Move back into the 1st for a prospect (handy to VGK) and 2nd to VGK.

Z goes to a team that will battle for playoffs and need that physicality at the back.

The lindholm trade might be undervalued so we could add another pick though he is coming without an extension.

This still doesn't make us a contender and we've had to give up a lot of our future. This scenario is not good for us but wanted to showcase what this would look like as I keep seeing Eichel trades.

Getting Eichel does not change us much. Sure he is a talented player but without a D behind we are not going to be contending.

Lets stay to the cause and keep this rebuild a float.

Don't matter what line, Kanes Line always plays the most.

This post was more to showcase that it doesn't make us much better even if we start mortgaging futures and going for trade targets.

I disagree. I think this team could make the playoffs even without the eichel trade. It's based on a lot of if's but I could definitely see this team finishing 3rd or 4th in the central
If Lankinen isn't a fluke
If the young defensemen progress
If toews plays and isn't too rusty and buys into collitons system

Yes its definitely playoffs 1st or 2nd round but we aint contending with the defence. Boqvist would have to take a good leap as would Kalynuk like you say. A lot of "ifs" surround this scenario. It still keeps Regula and Vlasic as the next guys coming through. We draft someone like Robertsson late in this 1st from Sweden.
