I don't see NSH having the cap space for this move. Net result after trade has them with 12 mil to sign 6 (or more). Saros is gonna be at least $5 mil. That leaves you 7 for 5. Tovanen will be at least 2. Fabbro 2, back up goalie 1. And due to the huge drop in play from Duchene and Johansen, they really need higher end 3rd and 4th liners. Their better served to try and move one of those 2 contracts, and do a partial rebuild.
Honestly, the Leafs won't move Marner. I hate the idea, but Rielly is the guy who will probably be the odd man out, but I don't see either team making a huge deal like this.

If NSH were trading Ekholm and Ellis, it would be to make room for younger defensemen. Reilly and Muzzin do nothing for them.
