I can’t see New York giving up that much capital for what could potentially be a one year rental. He’d have to come with an extension for the rangers to move out that much

I'm sorry, but if an extension is decided on, this isn't enough. Barkov > Eichel
But I don't see him wanting out of FLA

I don't know what his plans are. This pretty much assumes that Florida thinks he's going to explore free agency and would probably happen at the deadline. I think the most likely scenario is that he signs long term with Florida, I was just wondering about what it would take to get him if he didn't.

Oh barkov is absolutely better than eichel, but this is the equivalent of 4-5 1st round picks, unless the rangers think they’re winning the cup with 1 year of barkov then it doesn’t make sense to do it without the extension. With an extension absolutely he gets this package, 1 year rental? No way
