Just thinking out loud. This wouldn't be the final package as pieces would need to be added. Thoughts here though are Ducks get a proven winger in Jake and younger goalie (since they are rebuilding/younger) and Pens get proven goalie and a younger winger.

If the Ducks *were* to trade Gibby, it'd be for pick(s)/prospect(s)/young NHLers, not guys that will be entering their 30's when the team *should* be competitive again. They're not trading young NHLers/prospects like Comtois right now. It wouldn't make any sense. They're rebuilding.

Ok fair enough. Thanks for the Ducks perspective on this one.

I would think the ducks want younger pieces. The kings could want Jake for kempe (Play with geno) and one of their C's (Vilardi?- Once LAK get Eichel!).

I saw the Kings wanted a top six winger but I don't know if the package we could get from them really helps our team get bigger. I'm ok moving Jake (post expansion draft) if we can acquire a gritty skilled guy. Kind of similar to the Hornqvist for Neal move couple years back. We had too many skilled guys like Neal and no Patric's so it worked out. What I don't want though is to trade Jake than in exp. draft lose MCann cause than our LW is super weak.

Cheers. I get the "Gibby to Pittsburgh" thing, because he's from Pitt, but I just don't think the Pens have the type of pieces that Anaheim would need to be getting back.

Yeah I agree. I also am not 100% sold on the fact that Jarry can't be the guy for us. The Isles may just have been the better team as we see they are in the finals and up 1-0 in series. What I really want is what I said in previous post. The Pens have technically three Jake's in Zucker/MCann/Jake on the LW. I want a change up on the wings which might mean moving Jake or Zucker. I like the idea of one of them in the expansion draft but we will protect Jake due to higher trade value. I also am not a big fan of UFA's out there this year.

Yeah...I think Rakell might be the only real option wing-wise from Anaheim, but he's just a rental and GMBM will likely have a high pricetag on him, whether he earns it or not.
