This actually isn't a bad option for Risto. Good coach, not too much pressure. But I think a player with a little more upside needs to go the other way. Carrick is a career #7 Dman. Maybe Merkley or Foote. Either way both teams taking a chance.

I would take butcher in place of carrick. But do like carrick is right hander. Agreed Foote over Merkley would be nice. Who has better upside butcher or Merkley in an overall rank. I think Foote better then both

Yikes is Risto really only worth a 3rd? I haven't kept up on him recently, I know he has struggled abit, I didn't know it was that bad..... Is it because he is a 1 year rental? I would think a big D-man with offensive upside must be worth alittle more though?

Huge overpay by NJ. Risto is awful. Not a chance you’re getting Foote or anything higher than a 5th for him. Carrick and your 5th this year back at the most
