The Wild need to address 3 main issues this off-season.
1.) The Parise situation
2.) Sign RFAs
3.) Acquire a top 6 C

The Parise situation needs to be addressed first as it’s solution has implications for expansion and signing of other FAs. I would rule out a move to SEA since the cost to sit on that much dead salary for that term via buyout would be astronomical. I would guess the most likely end game is a mutual termination given the Parise’s desire to play and the fact MIN has no incentive to buyout after this year, this incentive likely forces the termination. This would save the Wild about 2 mil in cap for the next 4 seasons.

Sign Kaprizov as long as possible, sign Fiala as cheap as possible, and lock up JEE. Simple.

As for a top 6 C, there are options and I get the feeling that BG wants at least one, proven, veteran guy in that role. I’m looking at UFAs rather than a trade since UFA is less sexy. It also means I’m skeptical a younger and unproven guy like Frost or Patrick would be his answer, even if I like the process. Somebody on Twitter suggested Statsny and I love the idea as a stop gap until Rossi fills in. I’m also interested in Wennberg after his bounce back season and could be worth a short term, low cost deal to give Fiala some stability. Or if Rossi is ready day 1, they should give Tatar a good look.

I’m assuming 4-4-1 expansion with Soucy as the selection. We protect Zucc/Fiala/Ek/Foligno-Suter/Spurgeon/Brodin-either goalie. (I don’t think there is a credible threat of either being taken).
