I mean, do they really need him? U got lindgren-fox, Miller is probably gonna get the 2nd pair LD spot. I don’t think they need him, unless they wanna have him for a year, and have Miller on the bottom pair to shore up his game more? I can see it, and I like the return.

I don’t think NYR is the place for Rielly. I’d imagine Lindgren and Miller are their top 2 LD.

I would, however, be interested in a Rielly to EDM deal centred around Yamamoto. Maybe Kerfoot and Mikeyev could be added as a replacement and a depth guy/McDavid speedster partner. And then a pick or picks from EDM to balance.

I don’t know how Edmonton’s left side looks next year. This deal doesn’t happen if Klefbom is back though.

EDM’s lack of blue line depth was exposed, in the playoffs especially. Rielly adds a better guy to the back end as well as a new PP QB if Barrie walks. Kerfoot and Mikheyev add depth up front, which is also an issue in EDM. I think I like it for EDM.

For Toronto, they get a guy who kind of reminds me of a lesser Brad Marchand. I could be wrong about that but either way I like the guy. They also get cap space and a pick or picks to replenish the ones they’re missing.

I would put Rielly with Trouba and Miller with Lundkvist.

It's more about the Rangers eating Rielly's cap which is why the return is so low but last season I believe Adams stated that Georgiev was at least worth a 1st rounder for his services could be wrong but the Leafs need a 1A/1B tandem with Campbell and I believe Georgiev could be that guy if promised the Games? So essentially it's the Leafs trading Rielly and a Bottom 6 Fringe Player for a 1st and 2nd Rounder?

I'm interested to hear how so? SDA is actually a great talent and the Leafs look like they have great Center talent down the pipeline as of now. Liljgrenn would get the playing time in Arizona definitely because I don't think Hjalmarsson, OEL, and Demers will be on this team next season anyway? The 1st Rounder is something they are looking for especially if that franchise is rebuilding for what seems like the Millionth time in 5 years but they can always flip that 1st and another pick for a 1st rounder this year? Also I don't think alot of people realize that there are going to be alot of Undrafted FA's coming out of the OHL, WHL, QWJHL and other leagues so alongside everyone else the Leafs will restock their prospect pool in that form so again as much as I hate trading away the 1st because it never works out for the Leafs but getting a good top 6 player in Dvorak who has a previous history playing with Marner it could work?

The first rounder is fine. Liligrenn is a "meh" prospect. Yes, I know he was a mid first rounder, but he's 22 already hasn't been able to crack the lineup and it's not like there hasn't been room for an RD. The other prospect is even more "meh." So it's not that you didn't put the parts together correctly; it was the quality you chose. I think it would take a 1st and a good prospect or two to get Dvorak, but I think other teams will be able to offer better prospects. Hallander or Amirov would have been better to use IMO, or even both.

Considering cap space in 2021-22 is the least of my concern, that probably makes sense why I was overpaying lol.

I’m not positive that the Rangers will shop Georgiev this offseason however. What if instead, it’s a first round draft pick in 2021, but paired with let’s say Tarmo Reunanen?
