I'm not a Jackets fan but I really think they will say hell no to that deal.

Idk I just exactly see CBJ getting rid of Laine and Korpisalo like that. Gost is a cap dump and Patrick honestly is probably not gonna turn into anything. At the end of the day the only assets here are Konecny a first and Frost

Korpisalo is a UFA after next year. Ghost can play the right side which CBJ needs and he isn't just a cap dump, he is a perennial 35+ point D man who actually played well last year. Patrick is a gamble but the skill is there, it's his attitude that needs changing.

If Foerster makes the team next season it would be interesting to see what type of a role he would get. He would probably play wing on the bottom 6 and be on the 2nd PP unit like Allison did when he had his debut.

The asking price for Jones alone is rumored to be a 1st, a 2nd and a top prospect. So just for him, Flyers needs to give up 2021 1st, 2022 2nd and a prospect like York or Foester.

Allison isn't a C though, Foerster is and putting him between Jake and G gives him a security blanket.

Throw in a 2nd then I don't care but Frost is the "prospect"

Yeah, IMO no one should trade that many assets for a guy like Jones. I would be crushed if Chicago trades for him. I can give up a 3rd, nothing more.

Additionally for NoPa, he may benefit from being in a city like Columbus with less scrutiny than in Philly. Yes CBJ has a rabid fan base, but Philly has got to be one of the toughest markets for a young player who isn't meeting expectations to play in. I could see this trade happening.

I mean, if it puts us over the top then i'm not too concerned about an extra pick. If they trade Foerster in any deal this summer I am gonna be very upset! The kid is a sniper which is what this team needs more of.

You'd give up more than a 3rd for Seth Jones, cmon now. Unless that's hyperbole (and I apologize), this guy is a bona fide top 4 dman with top pairing skills. Let's be honest, playing in CLB, and now we know he doesn't wanna be there, can have an effect on how you play. Just like PLD before him. It's no excuse because these players should be honored and privileged to play in the NHL on any team, but I think playing for a team like Philly, Chicago, Colorado, Winnipeg, hell even Detroit (since Yzerman is GM and you have to think he is gonna be able to do the same thing he did with TB), there's just something about Columbus that saps players. Seth Jones is a great dman, and any team would give up more than a 3rd 100 out of 100 times.

I think he meant he wouldn't give up that extra 2nd but a 3rd would be ok.

Ohhhhhhh....

In that case, apologies, but I would still give an extra 2nd for a guy like Jones

I watched quite a lot of Phantoms games this past season and he mostly played wing there so I would expect him to play wing if he makes the team since we have so many NHL capable centers already.

Yeah, I meant what a 3rd would be okay. But anyway, you are abolutely right. The biggest reason I don't want him is because I really don't think that Jones is what Hawks needs. Especially not if we need to give up a guy like Dach or Boqvist. If you are in a rebuild, do it 100% and don't go after guys like Eichel and Jones that costs our biggest prospects and first round picks. Thats my opinion as a hawks fan.

+Patrick, Giroux and Laughton if you count secondary positions which I took notice of as well.

Patrick won't be here. Laughton can play fill in C but I don't want him there long term and G would much rather play wing.
