Probably would need to remove the 3rd coming back and just do SDA+engvall+1st for garland

honestly this is one of the better teams I've seen

plus you left the team some cap space and room for healthy scratches

The only reason I included the 3rd is that he's rumoured he wants out. Give us a little more leniency

Thank you. The key to the Leafs off-season will be trading market. I don't think they'll go after any big fishes in UFA.

wdym Yandle fell out of favour with Joel Quenville, Gudas is the most likely selection from Seattle. So you are going to ice a defence of:

    Ekblad-Weegar
    Nuitvara-Stralman
    Forsling-Juulsen

That won't work in the Atlantic unfortunately.

Stralman is most likely gone, will also try and move Yandle, Gudas isn’t getting moved. Zito will work a deal with Seattle to take someone of Zito’s choosing. Plus Zito will make a move or two to upgrade the D

There's an issue with that idea. Yandle has a NMC and also did you forget the last time Florida made a move for player protection.

    Just lose a player...

Did you forget there is a new GM in place. So does Stralman and so what? NMC just means you need to get their permission. I’m not saying they will waive but it’s almost a guarantee the conversations will happen.

Then you'll have to sign someone. You're whole idea is based on huge hypotheticals. I'm giving you a solution and you didn't even consider the idea that Ekblad might not be the same defenceman after the injury.

Everything is hypothetical as we aren’t the ones making the decisions. As far as Ek is concerned he is already skating and I’m sure if it’s up to him he will be out to prove something this coming year.

That’s what the Leafs and their fans are hoping for, but with only one yr left and knowing he’s going to want a pay raise plus knowing the Leafs cap issues I doubt Zito offers a first especially in next years draft if he’s interested.

But yours has more moving parts. mine was address a clear need for Florida and trade an asset we need to trade for cap relief.

    Its his value....

Seth Jones is getting multiple picks and is far worse offensively and defensively. Jones just has the brand name.

But at least he didn't try trading Reilly, Dermot or Kerfoot to Pitt...it's nice to see a Toronto fan try something different.

The trade is about addressing needs. Pit needs a RHD with ceci up that can pk and is defensively minded. While Toronto needs a 3rd line centre. I mean you pick and chose at the value but it’s about addressing needs. It’s evident Pittsburgh needs a RHD and Toronto needs a 3rd line centre. You can add whatever prospects you like or whatever.

Just going to mildly disagree with you there. The Pens should try to sign Ceci if he is going to be affordable, if they can't sign him, they would be fine with Friedman and Ruh sharing the bottom spot. No need to trade McCann for a lesser piece and little incentive.

This is like saying the penguins need a 3RW so they will give CHI Ceci for Kane.
It just doesn't work that way.

Ok but you also have to take into account you’re heading into the last year of Kris Letang contract and he is injury prone. 3 line rw is more of a free agency move than anything else with how deep rw pool is.

Also FYI it’s rumoured that McCann will be Seattles selection unless Pits gives up futures which is a no go imo because JR traded too much of the future.

No that isn’t you’re comparing ceci to Kane…

Holl broke out this year as a legit top 4 guy. The reason I traded him is because of Liljegren as he needs his shot this year otherwise we’re stalling his development.

McCann has a higher value than Holl but it’s not much more considering his contract in up next year and Holl has 2 yrs left at 2 million

top 4 guy. You TOR fans are unreal.
TOP 4 means you could play 1st pairing. He can't.
    Come down to earth man.

He averaged the most ice time out every defenseman on the Leafs this regular season which was a top 10 defence this year in the league…

Also top pairing is 1st pair. Top 4 is your 2nd pair. Top 6 is your 3rd pair
