Keep in mind Sandin (breakout candinate) and Campbell are both due new contracts the following year. Both could be in for hefty raises. Even if Campbell sucks next hear the leafs would still need to allocate a lot of cap space in their goalie position.

Campbell sounds like a person who isn't gonna take 4M on his next contract. Also, I think unless the leafs trade Rielly this season, they either might let him walk or extend him. He said he is willing to take a paycut to stay with the leafs. Foligno's contract will open up 2M, the Phil Kessel retention will open up 1.25M, the salary cap has a chance at going up a little bit, and Liligren will save us a little amount of money.

There is no chance that Arizona considers this. None.

Exactly why not? Seems like a massive overpay to me. Yotes will be looking to move Dvorak as he is owed more than his cap hit and has been under performing his contract.

He is not at all underperforming his contract and you offered almost nothing of value

If he isn’t underperforming his contract than a simple one for one with kerfoot would do. Apparently neither are underperforming their contract.

To me a 38 point career high on a 4.5m contract isn’t cutting it. Especially when his pay bumps up to over 5m next season.

And yet here you are trading for him and playing him in your top 6. Hmmm
