Huge overpayment for Reinhart.

LA wouldn't be able to protect all those defensemen in the expansion draft. They would lose one of Graves, Roy, or Walker to Seattle.

Anaheim and LA will never be trade partners....ever.

Yeah that's why its dumb, you could probably do the trades in a way where you could protect everyone. Especially if you expose DD

Doughty has a NMC, he couldn't be exposed, even if you were dumb enough to want to.

We can still waive it. SEA isn't taking on that contract and if they were insane enough to you just sign Hamilton to the same deal and its an upgrade

Is that how NMC's work? We can just waive them when we want to?

The player is allowed too. A team can ask any player to waive

What about Drew Doughty's history would make you believe that he'd be inclined to do such a thing.

We'd tell him if he did we would give him half a bottle of vodka we found in the dumpster

but actually you could go 'no one in hell is taking your contract, so you can waive and we can use that spot to go for the cup again before you retire or god forbid SEA does take you then it wont be that different to being on a rebuilding team here.
