You're absolutely right. They are exactly even. Gadiner is the most underrated player in the entire league while trouba is the most overrated. Gardiner is better in every single aspect, the only posotive trouba has over him is his age. Even if toronto could, I have faith tht Kyle Dubas would not let this happen. What makes evryone on this site think trouba is so good anyways?

idris: This is a trading site, and unfortunately not a "team building site". Trouba in the fall, when he was unsigned, on this sight people had him being signed for up to 6.5m a year. He signed for 3m a year.
Another example IMO is Shattenkirk. Yes he is a PP specialist but certainly average at best at 5 on 5 hockey. If it means anything he has the worse plus/minus of any Blues Dmen Still many folks think should be paid among the top 3, 4, 5 paid Dmen in the league. Well he might can that from one team but it doesn't make sense especially for a teams future signings.

The site has to be a team building sie if the trades can be realistic. Also about shattenkirk, please stop using the most irreleant stat in hockey and visit corsicas site or look at his hero chart. He is an elite number 1 2-way dman that both drives and suppresses plays

Well, Shattenkirk probably plays the least amount of even strength hockey as a Blues Dman, so the plus minus might be a relevant stat. Speaking to my Blues friends who see him more often, many rank him the 3rd best Dman on the Blues, behind Pietrangelo and Parayko. Hardly worth of top 3 pay in the among NHL Dmen. But again if folks want to get got up in corsica/hero charts or just look at scoring points, you're welcome to them.

Gardiner may be slightly underrated but he is horrible defensively.

How are you evaluating both players? Eye test? Shot stats? Just wondering how I should attack your extremely wrong statement.
