Off-Season Goals:

1) Weaponize cap space to acquire picks, prospects
2) Take advantage of the expansion process by acquiring solid young player(s) teams face losing for nothing due to protection list crunch.
3) Wait this one last year before becoming aggressive in the FA market
4) Acquire multiple goalie prospects to bolster organizational depth
5) Ensure there is enough depth so that Raymond & Berggren can develop without being rushed

I tried to be reasonable re: the trades listed. If any of them feel like overpays or underpays let me know what you would consider reasonable. Re: Dunn, I've seen a ton of trade proposals where the Wings give up the Washington 1st this year. To me that seems like a bit of an overpay, but perhaps it's not...if you look at his underlying metrics from the past year they're less than stellar.

The two 2nd round picks you're sending to the Blues for Dunn have between them about a 30% higher chance of bringing a player back than the Washington #22 does.

You are in reality paying a lot more with your offer than if you just give them the Washington pick straight up.

I’d rather keep the Blues pick if Raty/Cossa fall to that spot, if not, then I think Yzerman can work more magic with two seconds than one first.

Good point...I was trying not to come across as lowballing the return. Still the only Blues fan called it a "whack" offer, so who knows (shrugs).

Depends on Vancouvers draft before they accept or decline

Blues fans think that Dunn is worth as much as Hedman or something. The reality is that he is probably only worth one second, most people give him more just to keep everyone happy. They lose him for nothing or else take a second and maybe a touch more and lose a depth forward which they have more than enough of.
If Vancouver gets to pick Wallstedt then they most likely would give up Dipietro with Eriksson and I think that's fair, might be able to weasel a third or of benning if he feels he has to dump Eriksson, which he really does in my opinion.
Tampa has alot of centre prospects maybe have one of Colton, barre-boulet, ryfors or Finley might be better for Detroit. I like the goalie prospect, he seems to be putting up decent numbers.
Might need to take on another contract from the islanders with that return, not really sure though. I wouldn't be opposed to adding Hickey to that deal.
          ISeeBlueHeLooks liked this.
