This would be a disaster, Keith is a 5-6 defensemen at best

I don't get this entire hype around Keith to the Oilers. In my opinion there are better options out there for the Oilers to solidify their D. No matter what a trade would look like, it'd never be a "good" deal (Oilders perspective and problably Hawks too). A Keith trade would 100% have to include Neal going the other way and not much more.

Hardly a disaster, Oilers are also getting Strome who they could really use and if Keith can't handle 2nd pair minutes(though he likely can) the poster has Oleksiak and Larsson signed who could be a solid 2nd D pair.

The thing is. Oilers management think of Keith as the 2nd pair guy. He isn’t any more. Hall of farme d man. Ya I think so. But it’s been 5 years of decline. There’s better option on the market. Or even better trade targets.

He's been asked to be the top minute man of the Hawks, his analytics don't do justice to his on ice and off ice ability particularly those who don't go solely off analytics.

They have tried this before. Lucic chiasson Russel as leaders. And you know how these went.

I was meaning for us though with all due respect none of those mentioned are of the same calibre of Keith. He is a HoF top 100 all time player and won 3 Stanleys including the Conn Smythe.

I for one don't want us to move him but I do respect him wanting to be nearer to family during the current political climate.
