No thanks. Kravtsov's ceiling is higher, even if Kapanen is a safer bet right now.

Fair enough. It’s why I put OConnor in the deal too.

22 years old, 6’3, 210 pounds.

Was the Ivy League “Player of the Year”. This last season was his 1st season out of college. 1st pro season.

Pens organization raves about him and spent a lot of time on the practice squad and played in 10 games with the Pens in his 1st season out of college. Over guys like Angello, Lafferty, E-Rod, Zohorna. And he looked good. Didnt looked over-matched.

Plus he had 19 points in 20 games in the AHL when he wasn’t on the Pens practice squad. Granted he doenst have Kravtsov’s potential or ceiling. But he’s a nice prospect.

Can start off on a legit NHL 3rd-4th line b/c of his size and not be over-matched. And eventually move up.

**what do Rangers fans think of Howden.?? His #’s seem like he’s good defensively. And a big kid with 1st round pedigree. I havnt seen him play much at all.

Yeah I looked up OConnor, and while he's interesting, he seems similar enough to Morgan Barron, who he played against in college. But on Brett Howden, he stinks. Doesn't produce on offense, and isn't good defensively, despite this notion around him that he's a two way center. Sure, he kills penalties and blocks shots, but his FO% is weak, and his analytics are brutal. I think they put him in the NHL too early, ruined his development by letting him flounder his first two years (after a decent start), instead of just sending him to Hartford. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if they don't qualify him now that Quinn's gone, since he played him a lot. Hoping Seattle takes him.

Finally somebody put Howden where he belongs on the wing. I feel like he would do really well there. Stars say yes if they can make the cap work. Hyman and Larsson’s agents laugh at you

Why wouldn’t the Stars want to do a trade like this before the expansion draft. And expose Ben Bishop. Get that cap space and sign a UFA goalie with DeSmith as the back-up.

And Pens retain 500k on Pettersson for this season and 3 more after(4 total). It puts Pettersson at 3.5M per.

I didn’t say they wouldn’t want to do it. We don’t need DeSmith as we have Oettinger. Nobody is taking Bishop. And if there was somebody that would take him, I’m pretty sure Ben flexes his nmc

Ohh Ya, I forgot about Oettinger. You are right. He’s younger, better and cheaper.
