A yes a team who is retooling with no picks selling the farm for Mitch marner. Not going to happen. This would make the Mathews coming home rumors louder than ever before.

I mean maybe AZ fans can speak better on this, but that kinda seems like kinda deal that AZ wouldn't make. It feels like their focus is moving on from bigger contracts, recouping picks/prospects, try to be more cost efficient. So bringing in an 11 million dollar player and sending out a boat load of picks seems counter-productive.

MM16 is a UFA after the next few seasons. This package is double what Eichels is. Marner is an excellent player but this package is absolutely out to lunch. If he was an RFA or had another 3 years added to the contract and maybe a cap hit of 8-9M then maybe this deal is made
