Care to explain why? I don't think OTT would want to

I think so, if someone can find a fit for him. Put him with one or two snipers on his wing and I think he can put up numbers again. Really like his skating and puck handling

Can roll a top heavy top six if need be with Landeskog, MacKinnon, Rantanen and Saad, Wennberg, Burakovsky. If Bednar wants to shake that up too can do an all Swede line and put Saad back on top LW

Kadri’s better than Stepan lol, and we gave up a 2nd to get one year of him last off-season. Kadri’s still a solid 2C. We don’t have to worry about his playoff shenanigans jeopardizing a potential run because while we’re pushing for a spot, we’re not exactly expecting to go deep yet. He’s good enough defensively that him and C. Brown can form an effective matchup line and handle the defense, while not being a drag offensively and being able to keep up with Stutzle and finish plays. I think he’s actually a pretty solid option for us next year, and then hopefully Pinto can step into the 2C spot the year after.

My concern is the last bit of that sentence. Why are we giving up a high 2nd and a depth pick for someone who were not planning on being an impactful piece and who isn't in the long term plans?

Id rather just take the chance at drafting another Pinto with that high 2nd, let 2021/2022 roll.

At some point we need to invest in the current team so we don’t develop a losing culture like Buffalo or Edmonton. I think we have a very promising current prospect pool (obviously everyone that’s graduated is good, and then we still have guys like Formenton/Pinto/Jarventie/Greig/Crookshank/Sokolov/JBD/Sanderson/Thomson/Kleven developing, all of whom look pretty good). We could use maybe 1 more high end forward piece, which we should be able to get at 10oa, and then we have 38oa to add likely another good young forward to supplement that pool. I think 41 is expendable at this point, we shouldn’t be trading 1sts, but dealing our 3rd highest pick for a top 6 centre to show the team that management believes in them would be a worthwhile investment, and potentially push for a playoff spot. It also allows us to not rush Pinto, he can sit comfortably in the 3C spot and get his footing there.
