Okay, so I would rather bring in Smith over Driedger honestly, and that’s a lot for one year of Forsberg. I don’t mind the Tampa trade though, but there is no way that we get both of Strome, and Keith with that package. I also don’t think we should rush Holloway as well, I would probably put Puljujarvi up there.

Aaaaaaaand then Forsberg walks as a UFA, utterly screwing the Oilers for the foreseeable future. Because Oilers.

What a doozy of a trade

The deal with Forsberg hinged on an extension which i neglected (forgot) to include. At same dollars and 8 years. Holloway will almost 100% be on the Oilers next year. Id bet on that. Having him with Forsberg and McDavid would make it a bit easier amd spread the wealth throughout the lineup. Its also cost effective and i prefer him over Shore. Also Chicago will have to Pay in some fashion to move Keith. I could care less if that trade goes through or not. I dont like him or want him. But this is a comparable trade i read on the Athletic or somewhere and hour or so ago.

im not sure on Holloway being 100% with the oilers next year. Look at hollands track record most players play at least 1 year in the A before making it that includes most 1st rounders.
my bet is he starts in the A and he might might get a call up at some point after christmas.

Interesting. I still believe that Keith is a good player, and he would be very good in the playoffs, but I do think we have to add more on that to get both players. Holloway I hope won’t be on the roster, as I think he should go down to the AHL and learn more for a season. There’s no need for us to rush him at all. That makes the deal a lot better with an extension on Forsberg!

Yup. Just wait a year and sign him as a free agent. Get a guy like Hoffman or Schwartz on a 1-year deal in the meantime.
