Our Backup goalie is a 1.5 million buyout and we need an actual legit starter. Smith is a backup to us. That is the full picture and Konovalov will probably need a year in the minors or half a year at least.

Assuming you want to save the buyout space and use it towards a more competitive player then you will pay to dump. But like you’re suggesting, you could waste the cap space of 1.5M for the next 2 years 👍🏼

Steep price for a 1.5 million buy out when we have 24 million in cap space after the buyout. Add Neal to the Buyout and we have almost 20 million to blow.
